$150 God of War Laufey Collector Box Revealed, No Game Included

Following in the footsteps of GTA 6, God of War Laufey is the next big game to get a collector box without the game itself.

Sony has revealed the collector box for God of War Laufey, which costs $150 and includes a nice statue of Faye. Unfortunately it does not include a steelbook with a disc copy of the game, or any copy of the game, physically or digitally. Preorders open today at 10am PT through PlayStation Direct, and stock is limited, Sony warned. You can view a full breakdown of the box's items below.

God of War Laufey Collector Box contents:

• Light-Up Faye Statue – An eight-inch tall statue featuring Faye, Phranque, and Rue fighting against Begtse’s soldiers. Phranque will light up when the statue is plugged into a USB power source.
• 51-Card Oracle Deck – Featuring custom illustrations for each card by the talented Megan Lara, the Oracle Deck is a beautiful representation of your adventure through the Everywhen.
• Physical Mini Artbook – Concept art depicting the characters, creatures, and environments of God of War Laufey hand-selected by our talented art team at Santa Monica Studio.

Predictably, a lot of people are drawing comparisons to the game-less GTA 6 collector's box. However, some may be a bit more accepting of the value God of War is offering here. GTA 6's box includes a bunch of Vice City-themed merch, such as a pair of sunglasses, a hat, and a figure of a cartoon gator named Macca. It also costs a whopping $400, which is tough to swallow.

Many were critical of the fact that GTA 6's box didn't include a statue of Jason and Lucia, in addition to feeling like the box could've been cheaper if it didn't include certain items. So, God of War Laufey may not be as egregious to some fans given it is a smaller box with a statue of the protagonist. Still, it does feel a bit lacking compared to previous God of War collector's editions.

God of War Ragnarok's collector's edition included Thor's hammer, a steelbook (no game disc, though), DLC, a code for PS4 and PS5 copies of the game, and a handful of other trinkets. God of War 2018's collector's edition included a statue of Kratos and Atreus, a steelbook with a disc, a physical map, a litograph, and two small figures of Brok and Sindri, in addition to a bunch of digital content.

While this is likely supposed to be an add-on for people who are already planning on buying the game, it's disappointing that God of War Laufey's box doesn't at least include a complimentary upgrade to the game's digital deluxe edition, which includes special armor and weapons in the full game.

God of War Laufey – Collector Box will be available in "highly limited quantities" exclusively direct from PlayStation on February 16, 2027 for a recommended retail price of $149.99 USD/ €149.99/ £129.99. Preorders begin today, October 13, 2026 at 10am local time.
