PixARK is the voxel-based Ark: Survival Evolved spinoff in which players are tasked with surviving in a procedurally generated world, with unique procedurally generated quests, killing and taming dinosaurs as they go. Thousands of you have been playing PixARK across PC and console for almost a decade, and now the adventure is about to get so much bigger.
Introducing Terracrypt, PixARK’s Massive New Expansion
That’s because this week marks the arrival of Terracrypt. Terracrypt is not only PixARK’s first DLC expansion since 2019, but it’s also the game’s biggest. Terracrypt will add a whole new subterranean world to your PixARK universe, packed with more creatures to tame and bases to build.
A distress signal beckons you beneath the ground in PixARK’s new DLC where you stumble upon a conflict that’s been raging on for centuries. Since you’re the only one with the technology needed to take on this unexpected new variable, it’s up to you to head down there to try and figure out what’s going on, and potentially put a stop to something that might threaten life as you know it on PixARK’s surface.
What awaits beneath that surface is more than just a new area. It’s an entire continent, with the new forces at play only getting more and more menacing as you venture deeper and make new discoveries. That new continent is split into three layers, and those layers are divided up into 12 new and unique biomes waiting to be unearthed and explored.
200 Hours Of Gameplay Featuring New Creatures, Enemies, And More
It’s a quest that’s as daunting as it is exciting, but not everyone and everything you discover down there will be a threat. There are new friends in Terracrypt waiting to be discovered with whom you’ll be able to form formidable alliances. There are also all-new undiscovered technologies that will aid you in your quest to thwart the scary new forces that were calling PixARK home, just like you, right beneath your feet without you even knowing.
PixARK’s Terracrypt expansion promises a whopping 200+ hours of gameplay. It’s more than just additional exploration, too, as there’s a whole new in-depth story campaign tied to the DLC. There are 80 new creatures to discover, almost doubling the total available in the base game, 11 new enemy types waiting underground, and an innovative new genetic engineering system that lets you create new creatures and plant species that will be unique to your game.
The best part of all is the new DLC’s price. PixARK’s huge new Terracrypt expansion will be just $8.99 when it launches for 10% off on August 26, 2026, at 6 pm PST. That’s hundreds of hours of content and a whole new world waiting to be explored for half the price of the base game.
