Every New LEGO Set Releasing in October
It’s officially October, which means a whole new batch of LEGO sets is now available. This is a great month for new releases, because LEGO isn’t flooding the zone with an avalanche of new sets as it does some months (lookin’ at you, August), but the ones it's releasing are mostly terrific. What sets are those, you ask? There's one based on the original PlayStation, along with new Christmas sets, Pokémon sets, and an enormous new Star Wars set, plus a lot more. Let’s dive in.

LEGO Astro Bot Is Free with Purchases of $150 and Up
Between now and October 7, while supplies last, if you spend $150 or more at the LEGO Store, you’ll get LEGO Astro Bot, the PS5 mascot, as a free Gift With Purchase (GWP). It’s an adorable 276-piece set valued at $24.99 (you can actually buy it separately at PlayStation Direct).
LEGO PlayStation Is Now Available for LEGO Insiders
LEGO has made a near 1:1 scale re-creation of the original Sony PlayStation, a console that first launched in the US in 1995. As someone who still has his OG PS1 in the basement, I can attest that this LEGO version looks right on the money. Unsurprisingly, buying this set qualifies you for the LEGO Astro Bot GWP mentioned above. Note: to buy this set before October 4, you must be a LEGO Insider; you can sign up here for free.
LEGO Star Wars Executor Super Star Destroyer Is Now Available for Insiders
This one is also just for LEGO Insiders until October 4 (sign up here for free). If you thought the LEGO Death Star was big? OK, it was. But so is this Executor Super Star Destroyer, which rings in at 6,130 pieces and measures nearly 4.5 feet long. Where you’re going to display this behemoth of a ship is but one consideration potential buyers must weigh. Notably, if you buy it by October 10, you'll get LEGO Darth Vader's Lightsaber (40897), valued at $29.99, as a free GWP. Look for a “We Build” article on this titanic set in the coming days, or check out our picks for the best LEGO Star Wars sets available.
Two New LEGO Pokémon Sets Are Available
The LEGO x Pokémon partnership only started in February of this year, but it’s already produced a number of awesome sets. This month adds two new winners: a giant Poké ball, and a giant Up-Scaled Red Minifigure. They both look like surefire hits for Poké fans.
New LEGO Marvel Sets
There’s no shortage of Marvel LEGO sets already available. But with a major new entry in the MCU coming later this year in the form of Avengers: Doomsday, I’m not surprised to see a new batch based on the movie. Of particular note is the New Avengers Tower set, a more modestly priced (and sized) take on the previous tower, which has become hard to find in stock as it inches toward retirement. It’s smaller, much cheaper, and looks nearly as good. It comes with six minifigures, making it a good set for kids to play with as well.
LEGO Wallace & Gromit Is Now Available
When it comes to silly British stop-motion animation, you can’t beat Wallace & Gromit. This set finds the timeless duo riding their retro motorbike, complete with helmet and goggles. Once built, the set actually rolls if you push it.
LEGO Bookstore: Book Nook Is Now Available
LEGO has a growing selection of book nook sets. These are clever contraptions designed to be displayed among the books on your shelf. This one is a compact bookstore that sits between your books. But if you pull it out, you can open it up (like a book) to reveal a spacious interior, complete with book-packed shelves, a study table, a spiral staircase leading to the second floor, and even a barista bar.
LEGO Downton Abbey Is Now Available
You probably don’t know this about me, but I’ve seen the full run of Downton Abbey (including all three movies) numerous times over the years. The show has its harsh, dramatic moments for sure, but overall it’s a cozy thing that goes down easy. This brick-built re-creation of the residence in question is just lovely, and it comes with 13 minifigures, which might seem excessive if the show had a smaller cast.
New Christmas LEGO Sets
It’s somehow not too early to start thinking about Christmas? It’s true. LEGO released six new Yuletide-themed sets, with my favorite being the (sorta cursed-looking) Buddy the Elf from the always-delightful Will Ferrell movie, and the Up-Scaled Mrs. Clause Minifigure.
New Wednesday LEGO Sets
Fans of the Netflix show Wednesday have two new sets to consider this month. One is the Goth girl’s backpack, which opens up to reveal her dorm room situated above a storage compartment for whatever you want to put in it. The other set is the delightfully creepy Nevermore Academy.
