LIVE: Rockstar Set to Finally Reveal Official GTA 6 Gameplay, First on Netflix

Today is the day Rockstar Games finally pulls back the curtain on the most anticipated video game of all time: Grand Theft Auto 6 — and IGN is reporting live with all the news from across the internet.

GTA 6 was confirmed four-and-a-half years ago, when Rockstar said work on the next game in the phenomenally successful franchise was in development. Following two trailers and two public delays, we are now about to get an official gameplay reveal. Netflix goes first with its Grand Theft Auto 6: An Extended Look, which will remain exclusive to the streaming platform for six hours. Netflix has said this reveal will be captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5, and will run 27 minutes.

In the run up to today’s reveal, Rockstar has suffered a long list of gameplay leaks, which it responded to earlier this week. But enthusiasm for GTA 6 continues ahead of its November 19, 2026 release, and we’ll have all the news as it happens throughout the day, including the Netflix reveal itself and beyond.

So check out our live reporting below as the action unfolds. You won’t want to miss this one!

GTA 6 Leaker Has 'Cashed Out'

Analysis of overnight cryptocurrency transactions points to the prolific GTA 6 leaker having "cashed out" of their meme coin, earning around $270,000 in the process. More here.

Let's remember GTA 6 Trailer 2

Rockstar then released GTA 6 Trailer 2 in May 2025, a year-and-a-half after Trailer 1. Anticipation was fever pitch at this point, with fans going down increasingly elaborate rabbit holes in their bid for new details and release date. The release of Trailer 2 came hot on the heels of a delay to GTA 6 itself, from fall 2025 to May 2026 (it would go on to be delayed again, to November 19, 2026).

GTA 6 Trailer 2 was captured on base PS5, as today's reveal is. "Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them," Rockstar said in the official description released at the time. "But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive."

Let's remember GTA 6 Trailer 1

Rockstar formally announced GTA 6 in December 2023 with the release of Trailer 1. The developer confirmed the Trailer 1 launch window a month prior, issuing a rare statement from Rockstar co-founder Sam Houser:

Next month marks the 25th anniversary of Rockstar Games.

Thanks to the incredible support of our players worldwide, we have had the opportunity to create games we are truly passionate about — without you, none of this would be possible, and we are so grateful to all of you for sharing this journey with us.

In 1998, Rockstar Games was founded on the idea that video games could come to be as essential to culture as any other form of entertainment, and we hope that we have created games you love in our efforts to be part of that evolution.

We are very excited to let you know that in early December, we will release the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto.

We look forward to many more years of sharing these experiences with all of you.

Thank you,

Sam Houser

In the end, Rockstar was forced to release GTA 6 Trailer 1 early due to a leak (GTA 6 and leaks have a long history). If you're struggling to remember what was in it, check out Trailer 1 below.

Grand Theft Auto 6 Will Have RPG Mechanics Like Eating, Exercising, and More

Ahead of the Netflix reveal, a cover story for Dazed magazine, revealed new information about GTA 6, which we've rounded up here. Highlights include players being able to eat, work out, and sleep, each of which has an impact on the game's two protagonists, Jason and Lucia.
